Monica Jones, MA, LCMHC
Welcome to Abiding Springs!
Growing up as a PK (pastor's kid) in Chicago, IL, I learned at an early age what it meant to connect with and serve others. It was through that time of serving that I became passionate about walking alongside others, especially women, in their journey to healing and wholeness.
Conversations about personal struggles weren't common in my household or, for the most part, in my community. We were taught to keep moving forward and, as my dad would often say, to "keep on trucking." While that mindset fostered resilience, it also meant that many people carried their pain in silence. As I began working with young women who were doing the same, I realized how important it was to help break the stigma around seeking support.
This is why I’m so passionate about creating a safe, compassionate, and judgment-free space where women feel seen, heard, and supported. It’s the kind of space I wish I had growing up. While I enjoy incorporating faith into the therapeutic experience, I'm intentional about meeting each client where they are and honoring their unique beliefs, values, and journey.
I graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, in 2017 with a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC #15431) with the North Carolina Board of Clinical Mental Health Counselors and have been licensed since 2019. Before becoming a clinician, I worked in education, social service organizations, and spent more than 20 years mentoring young women, focusing on character development, life skills, and spiritual guidance. My clinical experience includes working with clients navigating self-esteem challenges, stress, anxiety, depression, spirituality, caregiver stress, chronic illness, grief, life transitions, and women's issues, including infertility and pregnancy loss.
When I'm not in the office, you'll likely find me spending quality time with my family, fishing with my husband, reading, playing brain games (trying to master Sudoku, lol), listening to music, watching documentaries, swimming, enjoying game nights, and lunch or coffee dates with friends. Oh, and the beach is my absolute happy place!
Meet Monica.
Why “Abiding Springs?”
The name Abiding Springs is inspired from Isaiah 43, where God reminds us of who we are and how He walks with us:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.” (vs. 1-2).
“Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.” (vs. 19).
Identity and Belonging
The chapter begins with God calling us by name: “You are mine.”Healing flows from this identity, knowing we are loved and claimed by God. At Abiding Springs, restoration begins with belonging, and from that secure foundation, personal growth and transformation emerge.
Life and Renewal in the Wilderness
Healing and hope can still emerge where life feels barren. Springs bring quiet, steady life where none seems possible, and our goal is to nurture those springs in the midst of trauma, grief, and despair.
God’s Presence Abides
Isaiah 43 reminds us that God doesn’t always remove life’s challenges, but abides with us through them. At Abiding Springs, counseling mirrors this truth: we walk with you grief, trauma, and other challenges, offering compassionate care and support.
Abiding Springs is a place where God’s faithful presence meets you in life’s wilderness, bringing hope, restoration, and new life, even in the places you least expect it.
